Childhood Milestone

Yesterday, The Bear decided to take the training wheels off of The Girlie's bike. Don't ask me why....he just did it. She was devastated! "Now I can't ride my bike!!"

Today, he decided to teach her how to ride it. And SHE DID IT!!

Here he is keeping a watchful eye on her.



And there she goes..still feeling a little anxious but doing it.

Pure joy!

Remember that feeling? That feeling of unadulterated bliss when you conquered something you thought was impossible? The joy of having people you love believe in you more than you believe in yourself?

Wow....does it get better than that?

Now...the wind in your hair, streamers flying, feet a pedalling. THAT is summer as a five year old. Bliss.

As a mother, watching her face her fears, seeing her big brother encouraging her and running behind her "to catch her if she fell"...it doesn't get any better than that.
