Doors Open Part I

I love this event and we try to go each year. This, I think, is my favortite venue. The Millenium Centre. Gorgeous!!

Here is the girlie posing in front of one of the fireplaces in an office on the third floor of the centre. Look at that wood!

Same office...opposite wall. Amazing wood panelling and solid wood doors.

Here is the fantastic glass dome on the main floor...in "Celebration Hall".

And the dome reflected against the solid marble wall above the entrance to "The Tapestry Room"

On the tour, we were lucky enough to be allowed to go up to the fourth floor and view the dome from above. Here is a close up of a portion of one panel.

And one more of the main floor. I love this building!

And to think...the entire thing came close to being demolished to build a parkade. WOW! Six above ground and three below groudn floors with solid marble and wood walls, wood floors and amazing stained glass almost lost. Thank goodness they stopped that...now if only they could find a way to use more of it.
