Post flood

Although there is still a lot of water around, it has receeded an amazing amount in the last few weeks. Remember this post http://5klive-love-laugh.blogspot.com/2009/04/and-still-water-rises.html Here is that barn today....high and dry.

Driveways are beginning to reappear, temporary dikes are being dismantled and families are beginning to return to their homes.



Now the rebuilding begins...



The shoulder of the little highway that I usually travel every day to take my children to school was completely washed away and there is some concern over the stability of the road now so they are working on that as we speak.

There are still some families that are under evacuation orders and many that still need a canoe to get to their homes but slowly, our little corner of the world is coming up for air.
