Thursday -- Good bye Florida!

Today is the beginning of the end of our vacation and we bid goodbye to Florida and made our way into Georgia before stopping just north of Atlanta for the night.

I took this picture at the first rest stop in Georgia because I just LOVE these trees! I have been admiring them ever since we arrived in these southern states and would love to know what they are. Some we have seen have been 3 times the size of this one at the base and the foliage is so unique (at least it is to this Canadian prairie girl :o)

If some one out there in bloggerland knows anything about these magnificant trees, post a comment. I'd love to know more about them.

The next few days will likely be more pictures from moving vehicles as we make our way back home. In the meantime, we are hoping for calm travelling weather and tons of patience...the drive north is never as much fun as our drive south.

  1. Is it a weeping willow? Just a guess - don't know much about trees. They are beautiful though.
