More goofy van pictures...the three muskateers back there :)
We arrived in Calgary Friday morning and spent the better part of the day at the zoo (pictures of that in the next post). It was scorching hot and it was lovely to walk around and stretch after spending severals hours every day driving.
The Bear is a HUGE Calgary Flames fan (we have several in our extended family...you know who you all are ;) but Aunty B in the queen of the Flames fans as she has lived in Calgary for more than twenty years now.
So she got to play tourist guide for the Flames lovers in all of us. Here she is with a few of the boys in front of the Saddledome (aptly named, don't you think?)

We then visited the Wildfire Grill...better known as Flames Central.
Our plan was to have dinner there but unfortunately they were closed for a private function. They were nice enough to let us come in and take a look around. And snap a few pictures, of course.
With dinner still in mind, we then headed off to to Calgary Tower (yes...that's right. We did two touristy towers in one vacation). Atop this tower, there is a glass floor that you can stand on and look down. Very cool! Even our little scared of heights S-man stood for this photo op. Way to conquer your fears!!
Alas, the two restaurants there were a.) closed down? and b.) booked until 9pm so we were off to Plan C.
Here is the Tower from the street (looks pretty similar to the Seattle one, huh?)
